Young learners and adult learners have differences in that ALs are actually more nervous because they focus too much on being right and when they're wrong they try to save face. They have preconceived notions on how the courses should be taught and they mistakingly compare their native language and English together. YLs aren't as motivated to learn, esp the teens and younger because they likely didn't choose to take the course to begin with. YLs should be encouraged to figure out their work still, including communication, sentence structure, grammer, and pronunciation exercises. Everyone a teacher meets is on a different level, such as beginners may know nothing to knowing some basics of English and intermediates knows how to communicate a wide range of topics but vocabulary is limited. Ultimately teachers need to treat each student the same and do this for their learning. Most important role as teacher is to be organized.
