Unit 3 discussed the various teaching methods that are seen in classrooms. The different styles of teaching all have their positives and negatives so what this course offers is a blend of a few different styles and combines them for an effective and sensible lesson plan. The idea of the ESA lesson plan is to have students get a practical and direct approach to the target language. The Engage Phase ideally would introduce the topic of the lesson while allowing the students to participate freely in a fun and relaxed way. During the Study Phase, the teacher would transition the ideas from the Engage Phase to target specifically what should be learned during the Study Phase. In this phase, worksheets or some type of specific control should be used to measure the learning. The Activate Phase allows students to use their knowledge of the language freely. In the Engage and Activate phases corrections should be minimal or none at all.
