This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was an overview on classroom management dealing with reppoir, behavior of students, classroom set up, student and teacher relations, and eye contact. This chapter talked about how to welcomly encourage your students and what to expect based on class size. It talked about horse shoe design, tables, traditional seating, etc. All of this is important to decide how to set up your classroom in order to benefit the class. In addition I thought it was helpful how it talked about what could discourage a student, such as issues at home, confidence levels, knowing too much, etc. Because with this knowledge of the students I can better prepare to help each student out. This chapter also talked about eye contact, not to face the board, maybe plan ahead and have note cards, a projector, write on the board a head of time, etc. Also it said to keep eye contact on the whole class, not just one student to not add additional pressure.
