Unit seven discusses the ways to teach a new language, in this case English. Moreover, the specific topics mentioned important parts on teaching vocabulary and grammar structure through the ESA methodology. The unit first explains the issues with vocabulary and students as well as what information is necessary for the student to know. For example, students need to know meaning, use, word grammar, interaction, spelling, and pronunciation of various vocabulary words. Moreover, there are three types of ESA methods, the straight arrow, boomerang, and patchwork which are explained in details through examples in the unit. I found this unit to be informative on various new ideas of teaching methods with vocabulary such as group discussions on the topic at hand or how to form the present or past tenses. Overall, this unit discussed the different ways to teach a new language superficially vocabulary and grammatical structures in conversations.
