Lesson planning is very important specially for beginner teachers. It has the following important functions; an aid to planning, a working document, and a record of lessons carried out. Lesson plans must be written down in the following manner; keeping it simple, not scripted lesson, structured, time balance,balance of skills, and open to adaptation.
The lesson must be organised to facilitate ease of checking. Before the class, run through the lesson plan, check equipment, lay out materials and aids, arrange the seating as desired, board is clean, and early at the classroom to readily chat with the students coming in.
Lesson plan should have learners' objective, personal aims, language point, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedure, phase, timing, interaction, class level, number of students, date and time, and teachers'or observers' name.
Sequence of lessons must consider flexibility, goals, revision, and variety of balance.
