In this unit although I found it a bit challenging to fully grasp all the all the parts of speech, I could come to an understanding that we have different sentence structures ranging from simple to more complex structures. For a sentence to be complete words needs to contain a noun, subject as well as a verb and to better that sentence or rather to provide more information we can use other parts of speech such as transitive verbs, intransitive verbs, articles definite, indefinite and so forth.For this unit, the focus on structure was very helpful. Sometimes a classroom lesson plan is not given or may not be clear, so to have these structures to fall back on is very helpful. It is also a nice insight into how different lessons can benefit from different structures. Such as how grammar structure lessons can benefit from the patchwork method, as some grammar structures may have different uses that need to be explored and explained for the students to grasp them and not become confused.
