This section was very difficult but after putting in a lot more time and thought into it, more so than I needed with the other units, I feel more confident when reflecting on past tenses. This unit has also helped me understand the previous present tenses unit and I believe will also help with the upcoming future tense unit. Splitting the tense lessons into three is very useful, as the student does not get an information overload and can gradually build knowledge and confidence.Covering the present tenses in this unit has further revealed how challenging it will be instructing my own class. The first 4 of 12 tenses in the English language were difficult in themselves to recognize at first without referring to them as second nature. I will need to not only learn and master these technical terms for myself; I will need to spend a considerable amount of time creating Activate and drilling exercises to help the students grasp these many rules on their own.
