I thought that this unit offered some wonderful advice that I can use when teaching. I appreciated all the ideas that were listed under the 1-1 tutoring sessions. I am really excited to try some of these techniques at my next one-on-one meeting with an English learner students. I also appreciated the guidance that the section on business offered. Another part not mentioned here was the students who are learning English for their studies. I come across a lot of these students; many of the principles and ideas mentioned here would also be applicable in these circumstances.The unit covers main techniques used during the lesson construction and teaching process itself. It presents the main points that need to be included in every lesson in order for it to be efficient, involving and interesting. Some of the key findings for myself: praising is extremely important, mistakes and errors are different, there should be an opportunity for a student to try correcting him/herself first before the teacher takes the lead. Also important to remember that ESA should be the main components of the lessons, with E always in the beginning and A in the end.
