This unit returns the lesson to the subject of grammar, with the study of conditional and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences containing \"if\" or \"when\", which refer to past, present, and future possibilities. The last half of the chapter discussed reported speech, or if one were to report speech that has already been said. Both are tricky subjects because they involve many different tense shifts, but the unit offers helpful teaching ideas and games to help the foreign learners adapt.Unit 7 covered receptive skills - reading and listening as two of the four essential language skills. I found it interesting how there are different motives for reading and listening ? for a purpose of for entertainment. I also found it interesting to properly understand the different ways we read and listen, for example skimming, scanning, predictive among others. We all employ these skills on a daily basis but it was interesting to think about them and properly understand the difference.
