This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
When making a lesson plan it is important that the plan is simple, flexible to change and fits the students. Lesson plans should be organized,(for example, when and how long activities will last, goals for the class (students and yourself as teacher), theme of lesson, and anticipated issues that might occur. Self evaluate. After a lesson write down things that worked and did not work out for students and yourself as the teacher. Again a variety of activities is ideal. In this unit i learned how and when to use modal auxiliary verbs to add likelihood, probability and a level of politeness to a sentence, the modal verbs usually come before the infinite verb in the sentence.
The unit also covered the passive and active voice, most sentences can be re-structured into an active or passive sentence and this is used when we don't know who did the action or if the doer of the action isn't important, it can also be used to conceal identity.
