Unit 20 is on troubleshooting. This is a short unit but it has some useful information. We learn about what we want to accomplish during the first lesson as well as what should be avoided. We learn some warmers we can use to create some fun and interest. We learn about teaching students with varying levels of English. This unit also explains dealing with large classes, students using their native language in class or students that are reluctant to participate. Finally, it briefly covers what to do if students are having troubles with listening texts.Accuracy activities are usually part of the study phase. During these activities we concentrate on producing correct language structures. Accuracy activities are controlled by the teacher. Fluency activities are usually part of activate phase. They aim to encourage students to free communication, i.e. dialogues, role-plays. When providing feedback after a free communication task we should focus on possible improvements rather than on mistakes that have been made. The teacher should do his best to relate the topic to the students' life and interests.
