This unit covered course development in areas such as test level, needs analysis, limiting factors, syllabus design, assessment and course evaluation. I found the assessment tests and their explanations to be most interesting. It is definitely important to make sure you are using the correct assessment in the classroom setting as it is one type of feedback for the teacher/student. In addition, the needs analysis is crucial at the beginning of classes. It is important that younger learners know the expectations. Also, the older learned need to feel that their discussion and opinions are valuable and valid. Lastly, the information on the course evaluations that should be completed at the end of the course are also vital to a complete learning experience for both the student and teacher. There is always room for improvements and info that students can provide for a teacher to make the next course more successful and academically vigorous.
