Lesson planning unlike conjugation of verbs is not written in stone like verb tenses, conjugation, or grammar. Although a necessary, integral part of learning or teaching it is kind of like a living, breathing, creature; it can and should be flexible. There are however certain basic guidelines. It must be kept simple and contain learner objectives and teacher aims. In all cases it must contain some sequence of the engage, study, and activate format. Otherwise the learners will not become fluent.The final unit of the course covers problems that teachers might come across based on the groups they teach, weather its dealing with a multilingual class or planning the first lesson of a new class. The course reminds us to follow the ESA patterns and even lists activities that can help in each of the most common troubleshooting situations. The advice on reluctant students was especially helpful, and I found the suggestion of letting students record themselves outside of class very interesting.
