Unit#12 focuses on teaching productive skills: speaking and writing. Communication is one of the most important things when learning a new language. Thus, accuracy and fluency activities come in handy for the teacher when he/she needs to let the students to practice speaking. Another essential part of learning a new language is writing. Teacher needs to focus on teaching about penmanship, punctuation and spelling. This unit taught me about the games that I never knew before.Productive skills are speaking and writing. Their purpose is to communicate and teacher has to create desire in the students to do so.
when teaching speaking, we use accuracy and fluency activities. Accuracy activities are controlled and focused on producing the correct language. Whereas fluency activities allow students to be creative with the language. Both are equally important.
When teaching writing skills we have to consider handwriting, layout, punctuation, spelling.
