This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit the biggest focus was on changing present voice sentences to the passive voice. There are simple formulas in which to change the sentences and are as easy as changing a word to the past tense. We also learned about modal auxiliary verbs which are used to express things like probability, ability, advice, possibility, and permission. A good comparison is these types of words help to add more formality and politeness to the english language. This unit covered the various resources and equipment needed for a range of lessons. I realised as I was reading the resources covered, how critical it is to adapt to the changing world of technology. Teachers need to continue to up-date their own knowledge and understandings through PDs and personal investigation. Resources like cassette players are now extinct and defunct. I have witnessed through my own experience computers come to dominate all areas.
