This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This was a helpful unit for thinking about which teaching aids and equipment will be useful in my future lessons. It was helpful to see examples of activities that could be planned around each of the different kinds of equipment, and which are best for each type of learning and stage in a lesson. Some of the technology mentioned was fairly out of date (for example, I can't remember the last time I used an overhead projector or a VHS), but it was still useful to learn about these forms of equipment as they may be available at a school I would teach at.This unit was about lesson planning. There are many things that need to be taken into account when planning a lesson, for example as a new teacher it would be best to have an aid to planning, to write down everything you think you will need for the class. To have an idea of what you are going to see and do, and how long all this is going to take. Keep in mind that there may be problems and be ready with solutions. Keeping a record is also useful because then you can look back and see what you have already taught the students and what is still lacking.
