This unit was very helpful for myself in understanding how to approach teaching new vocabulary. I found the material very beneficial as it helped me understand exactly what students need to know about new vocabulary and grammatical structures. Understanding the different components of ESA lessons with examples on how to implement them in the classroom and what activities can be used was very helpful in giving me ideas on how to effectively use the different functions (eg. engage, activate, etc).This lesson covered English sounds, as well as tone. You can also call it phonology and intonation. There are certain sounds used in the English language and you can find them in a phonemic chart. Your tone goes up and down when you speak and how your tone moves will tell someone exactly what you're trying to express. Also, you add stress to a syllable within a word to express exactly what your trying to say. This lesson also covered the movement the mouth makes when your making a certain sound.
