Learning about teaching methodologies is important. For those of us new to teaching, who have spent most of our lives on the learning side of the classroom, we don't realize how much strategy has gone in to the lessons we receive. Grammar-translation interests me, it has a role in how I have earned a second language, yet I understand the limitations and indeed, pairing aspects of this with methods such as Communicative language Teaching has helped me to progress in grasping language. The suggestopaedia method sounds very interesting, I plan to research and look into it more to understand how effective it has shown to be. I enjoyed learning about the Engage, Study, Activate approach. Thinking back, I recognize clearly this is what one teacher did with us and I truly enjoyed and learned from that class. I'm glad I have experienced a real life model of this as an example to aid me when I get to the point of planning my lessons for students.
