This unit is an effective display of teaching methods in action. In it, I picked up a few new techniques to apply to my own methods, such as the name tags on the desks in order to learn the students' names. I also found a few things I was not doing well in my past experiences during the \"how not to teach\" video. For example, sometimes, when the class would struggle, I would linger on a question too long trying to prompt a response, and the differences between the two techniques showed me some great ways to work around that.It is very essential to know and to learn about the present tense for people who are learning English because it will help them communicate clearly especially when involving in a current/speaking at the time situation. It is also very important for teachers to know the differences between the tenses so he/she can communicate clearly of what they like to precisely convey. Present tense is the most basic tense in English language in usage. I find that it can even help people to communicate even if they do not know other tenses.
