There are various teaching styles and methods; however the TEFL course concentrates on the Engage Study Activate (ESA) methodology as it is reported to be the most effective and logical. The ESA includes: an Engaging phase which main goal is to attract the students' attention and involve them in the lesson; a Study Phase where the attention is dedicated in passing down the core information / instructions of the class; and finally, the Activate stage where the students are stimulated to use as much language they know incorporating the new information learnt in the previous stage.This lesson places the importance on being a well prepared teacher and being equipped for class time before hand instead of showing up and \"winging it\". Students will respect you the more time and effort you put into the class and will be able to learn more quickly if the class time is used fully for teaching the students instead of trying to figure out what to do next. Though in the case that something does happen and you aren't prepared for it having a back up class activity for the students to participate in while you figure the issue out will help aid you in these moments.
