The unit on classroom management was interesting. It gave some insight on how a teacher should use voice and gestures to keep the class engaged. It also gave a breakdown on different ways of grouping students and their pros and cons. It was also highlighted how the instructions should be given and even what are the best ways of using students' names. One of the most interesting parts for me was how to establish a good rapport within a classroom and how to maintain good discipline to achieve the most productivity.This unit is very important because it teaches the phonetic alphabet. It also teaches some very important parts of pronunciation. The most important parts in this unit regarding pronunciation are stress, the phonetic alphabet, articulation and the best teaching techniques for pronunciation.
I feel I have learned a lot. I was not very good or familiar with the phonetic alphabet. This unit taught me the symbols and how to read it. I also learned about how stress differs based on which region the speaker is from.
