This lesson was incredibly informative because I have had to wing-it when it comes to learning how to best lesson plan. Luckily, a lot of what is suggested I have already figured out. However, teaching at a university means I have to cover a certain amount of material before the exam date, so if there is any time left then we can have fun, but I’m used to going over the material and then having students practice with a few activities before we just have to move on due to time. If I were to work with younger students, I think I would need to reformulate the way I plan lessons. I have done an example plan (similar to the one in the unit) for an education class, so I am aware of all the parts included, but it’s different than what I do on a daily basis. The self-evaluations are something that I have not done on paper, so I will try that out this coming week and I think will be more beneficial than just thinking about it in my head.
