The coursebook analysis section offered a number of important aspects to keep in mind when determining which coursebooks to use (if there is a choice). It is always important to remember that coursebooks are written in a general one-size-fits all manner and schools often cannot purchase new books each year, so material can become dated. I did remember having such textbooks and thought of a teacher who had us update the language ourselves and figure out the vocabulary to turn telephone calls into cellphone calls - discuss writing emails instead of letters - describing new fashions or TV shows or musicians that people would be talking about in conversations. I'd like to keep that in mind for higher level students. It does remind me, too, that younger students respond extremely well to characters (Cartoons) with whom they are already familar. I have students now to light up over 'Dora' or 'Elsa' or \"Anna' or 'Bob the Builder' or 'Legos' even.
