Songs, chants and music: for younger learners, it is a memorization technique. For older students, they can be realated to their culture. Songs provide the opportunity for listening, reading, and creative writing.
Games: it is any activity with a purpose, rules and elements of fun, such as: hangman, monopoly, pictionary, battleships, trivial pursuit, etc. Teachers should always start thinking by the teaching point in order to choose the right game or how it can be adapted.
Stories. the have many benefits: they are good for vocabulary building, they can be used with any level and age group, they are motivating, they are good for modeling writing styles, and all four skills can be developed.
Arts and crafts: they can increase or accelerate the learning process as they stimulate both sides of the brain.
Seasonal activities: they provide an impetus for language learning situations. Care should be taken about culturally sensitive issues.
