This unit was well lined-out and presents the purpose and ideal ESA structures for teaching each. Although it was certainly geared for native speakers with no knowledge of language aspects, I nevertheless enjoyed this well-organized unit- especially the list of activities for each step of the ESA process.
In the first part of the lesson, we see the why and how students learn new vocabulary. We also are presented with an example lesson plan.
We then see the same in separate sections for grammar and and language functions. It was interesting to see various ESA lessons (arrow, boomerang and patchwork) presented as example lesson plans. Finally, it was refreshing to review the list of possible activities, and reflect on whether or not I am 'stuck in a rut' always using the same activities for the same language points (and whether it would be worth experimenting with another possible activity, even if the one I normally use is a 'homerun' . )
