This chapter delved into the different groups of students that require special considerations. It described some things to consider when approaching beginners, young learners, businessmen, and a multilingual classroom. This chapter was exceptionally helpful in teaching different approaches to each group, as each group requires different things and may have different motivations. For example, young learners may not be well motivated because they are required to be in the class, but they will learn quickly provided the teacher keep them entertained. Adult learners, on the other hand, are often very highly motivated but have much more difficulty retaining the language. This chapter was especially helpful when approaching a class learning English for their jobs, describing many tips and points for consideration. The Needs Analysis section was interesting, give me several ideas for how to begin course should I ever find myself in that situation.
