Unit 20 covered a range of issues that occur in classrooms, including reluctant students, use of native language, and large and small class dynamics. In my own teaching, I have encountered the challenges that this unit describes and learned that mostly what will help me prepare is getting more experience in the classroom with a wider group of students from different backgrounds. Overall, the ITTT course has been a valuable introduction to the rigors of EFL teaching and had me using my creativity to think of ways to meet the students needs and help them succeed.This section has taught me the advantages and disadvantages of authentic lesson material and created material. I have learnt about additional online sources to create material like gap-fill exercises, word searches, crosswords, etc.
Unit 14 also described upsides and downsides of course books, how to analyse a course book to make sure it is appropriate for my students and how to use it. I have learnt that I can omit and replace course book material when necessary and that I can supplement and adapt it whith my own created material provided it is more suitable.
