Unit 15 was concerned with methods of student evaluation and testing. Student language levels are assessed by tutorials, student performed evaluations and tests. The main types of tests are: placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests, external exams, and Cambridge Assessments. I think unit 15 is important because in order to teach at a level and pace that is relevant and realistically challenging to learners, their current progress must be assessed. It is clear that unit 15 provides a solid foundation for evaluations and testing.It is important to know the level of students so the teacher can use appropriate language and material in class. It is also important to know possible problems that may arise in class for each level and how to handle them. Needs analysis is very important for Business English classes so the teacher can plan for future lessons and keep the student?s requirements and interests in mind. A teacher should never use the student?s native language in class as it decreases their motivation. However a teacher always needs to give clear and easy instructions.
