This was an interesting unit for me because it gave me a new perspective on different methods of teaching. I believe a successful educator will incorporate all of these methods during each class. I also enjoyed reading about what motivates specific age groups. Although the reading suggest that post puberty is the most challenging of age groups, I believe it is also the most interesting because if an educator is passionate about the learners success they will have the opportunity to play the role as the facilitator which can potentially help that child find their identity and ease their transition into adulthood.
From this unit I also learned about the different stages of learning: beginner, Elementary, Pre Int, Intermediate, and advanced. There was the topic of cultural awareness which from my own experience in the health care profession I have had to practice on a daily basis. I am looking forward to applying cultural awareness as an educator.
