This chapter dealt with the productive skills in terms of speaking and writing. There were many great activities for speaking that I am interested in. Although I do not spend much time on teaching writing in the classroom as stated in the chapter. However, this is because students tend to write everything. They write everything that they hear and never focus on using their skills to speak. The country in which I teach, is known for students who refuse to speak and are quite shy and so I was hoping for more on that topic. I have tried creating a comfortable environment and there are students who began to open up, but I do have cases where a student will come to class every week and never say a word. What can be done when there are a range of students in varying levels in a class? I hope that by the end of the course I will have some more ideas. I also enjoyed looking at some of the games provided and thinking of ways to relate them to my lessons.
