This unit covers many aspects of designing and implementing a language course. We look at how to assess your students’ language abilities and future needs, developing a suitable syllabus, as well as in-class assessment, external examinations and course evaluation.
The unit has given me the opportunity to see the different types of tests that can be given prior to the course starting as well as during and after the course is completed. Prior to the start of the course, assessments will need to be given to gain the students level in the English language proficiency as well as other tests to determine the needs of the course. The unit has brought me to an understanding of the different test that should be given through out the course to determine what is being learned and then again at the end to see the student achievement. Further assessment or evaluation should be done to see how the students felt about the course materials and the teacher.
