This unit was about teaching special groups. Teaching children was first discussed. I realized after studying this unit that it is important when working with children to teach the same way a parent would teach, which alleviates much of the pressure on language learning and could help to avoid boredom or lack of motivation. Many teachers say teaching children is the most rewarding, even if it does have big challenges like creating motivation. Teaching businessmen was also discussed. Many companies may be interested in their workers taking an English course. In this situation I learned it is important to maintain a degree of professionalism, which may even mean using their native language in the beginning or having a negotiation of what ought to be taught in the class. It is important to teach the class based on what their need is and not be worried about knowing the content so deeply. This will cause deeper communication between student and teacher.
