This unit covered the roles an instructor assumes in a classroom, which were, but not limited to, 6 general positions. It explained the different types of students a BE teacher might encounter during his/her career. The unit listed out advantages and disadvantages of teaching an adult learner, and also teaching on a one-to-one basis or a group. The chapter explained the four different skill set that is taught in a BE class, and how to teach them.This unit covered the use of authentic materials (menus, raidio broadcasts, t.v. shows, etc...) and the use of materials created by the teacher to help build vocabulary and fluency. This unit also covered the advantages and disadvantages of textbook use. In addtion, this unit provided examples of activities that include flashcards, telephone conversations, and crosswords to help build the students familiarity with the use of the English language.
