There are many different types of resources teacher can use in their classroom. Electronic equipment such as computers, video/audio players, projectors, interactive white boards all should be checked beforehand. They need to run smoothly, the volume needs to be appropriate, and you need to be familiar or trained on how to operate it. These are good resources because things such as DVD's or using video recorders can hold student's attention and engage them. There are also online resources such as youtube, mp3 clips, email and online dictionaries. These things should not be overused, however, or they can lose their effectiveness.
Other materials include worksheets, physical dictionaries, and work or resource books. Dictionaries are the most useful and students should be taught how to read and use them. Worksheets or cards can be used for many different activities and teaching points. Covering them with plastic will make them re-usable in the future.
