esting is something that all of us look forward to, not necessarily in a good way. Anxiety aside, most students who have studied like to think they have made some progress to show for their work. But testing is important to reach the goals the student and teacher have set for the amount of time they have together. Younger students may have difficulty finding relevance in grammar and vocabulary. Older students will probably have more difficulty with their memory, as age takes its toll on their mnemonic skills. Therefore, teachers need to test their students on a regular schedule in order to determine their progress. It is also a motivator for the students to study. Likewise, there needs to be an external source to measure a person’s language skill in order to determine their fit within a company. So external exams have been developed with certification to give a corporate human resources department a quick way to determine a candidate’s fit.
