This unit concerned past tenses, their appropriate uses, and any irregularities that we should be aware of when discussing them. As with present tense, the sections about the perfect tense (past perfect and past perfect continuous) were of help for me. This is especially good practice for me considering that most of my students are Chinese, whose language does not have a past tense and often have detailed questions about how to use it properly.Reading and listening are receptive skills students need to learn but listening can be more challenging. When we read the words are right in front of us so if we don't understand we can keep looking it over. When we listen though, sometimes we may not understand the words and not have any time to keep repeating. So in order to improve listening skills, it is very important to pre-teach students words they may find difficult or hard to understand.
