The conventions of English grammar and the parts of speech can obviously be intimidating to many students involved in the learning process. Because there are so many \"rules\" to English, I did appreciate how Unit 2 simplified and provided stellar examples of each rule (taking simple sentences and identifying the parts of speech) and slowly working up to longer sentences with more complex rules. In my teaching career, I will be involved mostly with teaching younger children parts of speech so I feel like I am able to utilize the simple sentences and straightforward examples of English grammar and conventions in my lesson plans to assist in their learning process. If I am tutoring a student who is trying to learn English, I think it would be more beneficial to cover each rule/convention/part of speech over the span of 1 or two days so that the student is able to have a firm understanding of the lesson before moving on to more abstract/complex sentences.
