This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
There are so many rules and regulations for the English language, it's incredible. Active and passive voice is tricky for active English speakers, and it will be difficult for foreign speakers to differentiate between the different past, future, present voices (simple, perfect, continuous, etc), if English speakers (native) are still unable to master them. It will take patience and a lot of attention to detail to pass these rules along, effectively.Modal verbs are used to express different ideas, for example: obligation, permission, ability, prohibition. The chart provided in this unit gives a very good review if he usage of modal verbs and can be used in the classroom to explain the differences in meanings and usages to the students. Passive voice is used when it is not known or important who performs the action. It might be confusing foe the students to use passive voice in different tenses.
