This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This was a challenging unit. There are many different aspects of present tenses that I learned more about through this unit. I learned that the present perfect tense can be used in the following situations; when talking about finished actions at an indefinite time, when we are thinking about completed past actions carried out in an unfinished time period of time of speaking, and when we describe past actions with present results. I also learned that the present tense can be difficult for English Language Learners. The first lesson was unbearable, and it was actually painful to watch. It was inspiring for what I don't want to do. In the second video, it is clear that the teacher's attitude made a big difference in the interest and comfort of the students. The second lesson was also structured very effectively, and you can see how the students learn the names of animals and actions in the beginning and begin to use them towards the end. It definitely inspires me to create lessons that can get that level of engagement or more.
