We are now getting into the meat and bones of teaching English as a second language. Every process has to begin somewhere, the process of learning a language begins with hearing the language and then reading the language. As the brain gathers more information using its receptive skill, then the student becomes proficient. It is up to me as a teacher to help formulate the process to feed the students receptors, the eyes and ears with their appropriate level of information so they can gain the skills they desire.In this unit we reviewed the importance of speaking and writing. These are both used to communicate. I understand that while writing is very important, it gets neglected easily. I t is important to have in class activities for this. We also learned ways to engage the class in speaking activities. There are controlled activities where the language is controlled by the teacher. Guided activities the output is controlled by the teacher but the language is not. Creative communication involves fluency based activities.
