This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is the last one on grammar and it covers modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. There are many modal auxiliary verbs and depending on which one we choose to use in a sentence, it will bring different ideas to the sentence. For example, 'could' and 'must' will bring a different degree of responsibility on a speaker or a listener. If we dont have a certain information on a subject or dont want to tell it, we can use passive voice. This unit also introduces 3 forms of phrasal verbs: Intransitive, Transitive separable and Transitive inseparable.Unit 14 consisted of a guide to coursebooks, lesson materials and teaching techniques for each source. I learned that authentic materials are real-world examples of English that one might find in one's native country. Another form of materials are created materials which are made by the teacher to supplement course book teachings. Unit 14 illustrated that course books are great for making a class syllabus. This unit is great for future reference because I can use the overviews of the aforementioned materials to design solid lessons plans and syllabuses.
