Authentic materials can be used for beginners to advanced level English students. By bringing in authentic materials to the classroom, students can see how the language is used in pop culture. Created materials are also useful because they are controlled by the teacher. This allows a teacher to test the students on specific lessons and clearly see what is being understood. It's important to use both authentic and created materials. There should also be an even balance between using the course book and straying away as to not keep class time predictable.This final unit was about different problems I could face in the classroom. It gave some great ideas on how to approach the first lesson, warmers games to use at the beginning of class, how to deal with different levels in the group or how to deal with a large group. The unit also went back the problem when students use their native language and how I as their teacher can avoid or limit this situation. And finally, this unit mentioned the difficulties with listening texts and the importance of using audio to help students improve their listening skills.
