I have learned a great deal about the effectiveness of varying groupings for assignments, as well as how the teacher's own location during these assignments can affect the progress of the various grouping options.This unit contained information on the reasons for administering different kinds of tests. The results of different tests can be used for different purposes. Placement tests let the teacher know what class the student should be placed in. Diagnostic tests let the teacher and student know how much English the student knows. Progress tests allow for real-time monitoring of how well the student is learning. Practice tests are useful to give students a taste of any external tests they may plan to take.
