This unit covered the productive language skills, reading and writing. The unit included mention of various activities that could be used in the classroom when teaching these skills, highlighting which aspect of the skill they would be benefiting. I think the distinction made between fluency and accuracy is helpful, since often the two can be considered one and the same. Even when understanding that there is a difference between fluency and accuracy, sometimes it can be easy to forget how quickly they can be confused.Another challenging yet informative unit. All the grammar terms, though familiar, had been relegated to the back of my mind years ago. I will need to continue reviewing and learning these terms in order to be well prepared to teach students. Curiously, when I was in elementary school, we were taught that CAN was used when referring to the ability to do something, and MAY was used as a courteous and polite request for permission. The application of these two words, as outlined in this unit, seem to be somewhat broader.
