I learned that lesson plans aren?t meant to be rigid and inflexible. But rather they act as a guideline to keep the flow of the lesson moving toward a specific objective. I?ve been lectured on many different ways to create a lesson plan but this is the first time I?ve seen a lesson plan that anticipates problems for the teacher and students. I also really like the idea of a self evaluation form for the end of each lesson in order to highlight what went well, what went wrong, and how to improve for next time.A personal concern of mine is managing a class without becoming intimidating or overbearing. The alternate seating arrangements and methods for ensuring productive group work will serve as valuable assets for empowering my student's comfort with English without lectures and drills being the only source of instruction. I feel that horseshoe arrangements and monitored groupwork would allow me to conduct the class from a less dominant position without allowing the opportunity for unruliness or the class losing focus.
