Unit 8, focus on the future tense. The future tense formula is much like the other tenses. Excepting of course in that it inserts will/shall to infer future. In addition to the usual simple/continuous/perfect /perfect continuous forms, there is also the Going to future form. Which is used to express intentions, future plan and predictions based on current evidence. The Present simple and Present continuous forms also can be used to refer to future situations.This unit covered conditionals. It also talked about reported and direct speech. I learned that when speaking we often use tenses interchangeably depending on what we are referring to. This makes it difficult for people who are non-native English users to know which tense they should be using. I learned that first and second conditionals along with the third and mixed conditionals can be confusing for people learning the language to understand the difference.
