This unit was more specific than the preceding ones. Vocabulary, grammar and functions are essential to learning any knew language and the unit elaborated on techniques for approaching each of these. It distinguished how grammar is the back bone of the language whereas vocabulary is a field which needs to be dealt with more specifically as per the needs of the disciples. It made use of the boomerang, patchwork and straight arrow methods, introduced in unit 2, to give examples.this chapter serves to remind the importance of establishing a good rapport amongst students especially in a new class. this allows the students to be comfortable not only with the other students but also with the teacher. this would definitely provide a comfortable and safe environment for the students to practice the language, because when they are familiar with each other, they would be more willing to participate in the lessons as them feeling embarrassed will be decreased
