This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, we reviewed model auxiliary verbs, such as can, may, would, etc. Using model verbs can change the formality of the sentence. We also explored active and passive voices. Active and passive sentences have the same meaning, but the focus of the sentence differs. Next, we explored independent and relative clauses. In this unit, I found that differentiating between intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable the toughest because they are very similar to me.This unit has shown me the importance or correct delivery of a new language to a student who has never heard or used certain English words in the past. It is important to explain them the meaning of those words and also teach them the spellings. Nonetheless, there are several methods of delivering this teaching for example Patchwork ESA structure, Boomerang ESA structure or Straight Arrow ESA structure. Each can be effective in its own way depending upon the understanding of students.
