Unit 15 covered evaluating and testing the students.
The unit started by giving us 3 general ways to assess a students language level. They were by tutorials, evaluating by the students and tests.
Tests were looked at in depth during the unit and they were broken down as follows.
Placement tests: Used to place students in the correct level according to their language ability.
Progress tests: Used throughout the teaching of the students to gauge what language has been remembered and what language has been forgotten.
Diagnostic tests: Similar to placement tests and are used to find out what students already know so that lessons in the future can be based around what they don't know so that these areas can be covered by the teacher.
Practice tests: These tests are used for students to practice for upcoming external examinations.
General examinations come in a wide range of levels from beginner to advanced as well as specific business focused examinations.
