Teaching material can be authentic or non-authentic. Authentic is pre-published material not specific to teaching English. Non-authentic material is specific to teaching English and is usually a pre-published textbook with audio/video supplement. Teachers can also develop their own teacher material, which most students seem to prefer over textbooks because teacher-created material is more student-centered and relevant to the teachers learning needs.This Unit went over the different ways that a teacher can help teach students in the classroom. Materials that can help the teacher include visual aids, a CD player, and a video camera. Each method and resource contains advantages and disadvantages. Certain devices, like the Overhead Projector, would require that the teacher understands the technical knowledge of the device before they operate it so there would not be a distraction in the classroom.
